How it works
Coins, reels and refills
Everything on Spin runs on virtual coins that replenish. Here is what the words on the game pages mean, so the numbers are not just decoration.
Coins
You start with a coin balance and it tops up on its own over time. Coins cannot be bought, sold, transferred or cashed out. They exist so a game has a number to move up and down, and that is their whole purpose.
Lines and ways
A payline is a fixed path across the reels. Match enough symbols along one and it pays. A 20-line game has twenty such paths.
A ways game drops the fixed paths: any matching symbols on adjacent reels pay, left to right. Six reels of four symbols gives 4,096 combinations, which is why Kruger Nights quotes ways rather than lines.
Volatility
Volatility describes the shape of the outcomes, not how much a game returns overall.
- Low pays smaller amounts more often. Sessions feel steady.
- Medium sits between the two.
- High pays rarely and larger. Long flat stretches are normal and not a sign anything is broken.
Two games with identical long-run returns can feel completely different purely because of volatility. It is the single most useful word on a slot page and the one most often skipped.
Wilds, scatters and free spins
- Wild substitutes for other symbols to complete a win.
- Scatter pays or triggers a feature wherever it lands, without needing to sit on a line.
- Free spins are a round of spins that cost no coins, usually triggered by scatters.
What Spin does not have
- No deposits, because there is nothing to deposit into.
- No progressive jackpot, because a jackpot with no money in it is theatre.
- No coin packs, no premium currency and no adverts asking for a card.
- No account, no email address and no identity check.
